CCTV & Video Surveillance
See everything. Miss nothing.
A camera system is only as good as its design. We engineer coverage camera-by-camera — field of view, lighting, mounting height, and storage retention — so the footage is there, and usable, when you actually need it.
Video Surveillance (CCTV) in Sacramento
Scarlett Communications designs and installs commercial-grade IP video surveillance systems throughout the Greater Sacramento region. Every project starts with a site walk: we map entrances, parking areas, receiving docks, cash-handling points, and interior circulation, then design camera placement around how your facility actually operates.
We install complete systems — cameras, network video recorders, PoE switching, cabling, and video management software — and configure remote viewing so owners and managers can check any camera from a phone, tablet, or desktop. Already have cameras? We also take over, expand, and modernize existing systems, including analog-to-IP migrations that reuse existing cable paths where practical.
Camera & recording systems we install
IP cameras — dome, turret, bullet & PTZ
High-resolution 4MP–4K network cameras with true low-light and IR night performance, matched to each location's field of view and lighting conditions.
Multi-sensor & fisheye panoramic cameras
180°/360° coverage of open areas — lobbies, warehouses, yards, and parking lots — with fewer devices and fewer blind spots.
License plate recognition (LPR)
Purpose-built LPR cameras at gates, driveways, and parking entries that capture plates day or night at traffic speed.
NVRs & video management systems
On-premise NVR, hybrid, or cloud-managed video platforms sized for your retention requirements — 30, 60, 90 days or more.
Video analytics
Line-crossing, intrusion zones, loitering, people counting, and object detection that turn cameras into proactive alerts instead of after-the-fact evidence.
Remote & mobile viewing
Secure apps for live view and playback from anywhere, with per-user permissions so staff see only the cameras they should.
Analog-to-IP upgrades & takeovers
Modernize aging DVR-based systems to IP resolution and reliability, reusing existing infrastructure where it makes sense to control cost.
PoE network infrastructure
Enterprise PoE switching, UPS backup power, and dedicated camera VLANs so the surveillance network is secure and stays up.
The Scarlett Standard
What 'done right' means here
Retention engineered up front
Storage is calculated from camera count, resolution, frame rate, and your required retention window — not guessed at.
Clean, serviceable installs
Labeled cabling, tidy head-end racks, and documentation that makes the next add-on or service call fast and cheap.
Cyber-aware configuration
Default passwords changed, firmware updated, cameras segmented from your business network — the basics too many installers skip.
Good Questions
Video Surveillance FAQs
Can you use our existing camera wiring?
Often, yes. Existing coax can frequently be reused with IP-over-coax converters, and existing Cat5e/Cat6 is usually ready for modern IP cameras. We evaluate the installed cable during the site walk and tell you exactly what can stay and what should be replaced.
How long is video footage stored?
That's a design decision, not an accident. Most commercial clients target 30–90 days of retention; some government and cannabis-adjacent uses require more. We size recorder storage to hit your target window at the resolution and frame rates you need.
Can I watch my cameras from my phone?
Yes. Every system we install includes secure remote viewing apps for live video and playback, with individual user accounts and permissions per camera.
